New York, NY, United States (4E) – Dan Brown, author of the bestselling book ‘The Da Vinci Code,’ is to release a new book on May 14 titled ‘Inferno.’
‘Inferno’ is the fourth installment in Brown’s crime novels led by fictional character Robert Langdon. Set in Italy, Brown said that ‘Inferno’ was inspired by Dante’s literary classic of the same title. He was doing research in Florence when the idea for his new book came about.
In a statement, the famed author said, “Although I studied Dante’s ‘Inferno’ as a student, it wasn’t until recently, while researching in Florence, that I came to appreciate the enduring influence of Dante’s work on the modern world.” He continued, “With this new novel, I am excited to take readers on a journey deep into this mysterious realm…a landscape of codes, symbols, and more than a few secret passageways.”
An announcement on Brown’s website reads, “Dan Brown’s new novel, the eagerly awaited follow-up to his #1, record-setting international blockbuster, The Lost Symbol, will be published in North America by Doubleday on May 14th. The new book features renowned Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon. Set in the heart of Europe, Langdon is drawn into a harrowing world centered on one of history’s most enduring and mysterious literary masterpieces.”
Brown’s first three bestselling novels starring Robert Langdon are ‘The Lost Symbol,’ ‘The Da Vinci code’ and ‘Angels and Demons.’ The latter two have been adapted into films, top-billed by actor Tom Hanks, while the film version of the first one is being developed.
