Obituary Notice: Anna Mae Walker
Anna Mae Walker, 92, of Clearfield and formerly of Morrisdale died Monday, Jan. 14, 2013 at Colonial Courtyard in Clearfield. Born Sept. 25, 1920 in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Everett Kerr and Margaret Koeffler Wilson.
Mrs. Walker was a member of the Gethsemane United Methodist Church. She was a devoted mother, grandma and great-grandma.
She’d been employed as a comptometer operator for P. Duff & Sons at National Tube in Pittsburgh, where she gave up working to be with her husband when he returned home from World War II. She’d been a seamstress for Cicci Dance Supplies in Finleyville, as well as an auditing supervisor at Sears and a clerk at Phar-Mor Drug Store in Bethel Park.
She married Clyde J. Walker on May 1, 1943 in West Virginia. He preceded her in death on June 13, 2001.
Mrs. Walker is survived by one daughter, Jo Ann Miller and her husband, Gary of Morrisdale; one son, Donald Walker and his wife, Katey of Bradford, VT; one sister, Mary Agnes Dodd of Aliquippa; and two brothers, David Wilson and his wife, Dorothy of South Park and Walt Wilson and his wife, Janet of Pittsburgh.
Also surviving are her grandchildren, Rye Estepp and her husband, Jeremie; Aran Walker; Megan Newhouse and her husband, Andy; Nathan Walker and his wife, Melissa; Rowan Walker; Linnet Walker; Brent Miller and his wife, Valerie; Courtney Carns and her husband, Dan and Garrett Miller; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Walker is preceded in death by one sister, Peg Rettinger and two brothers, George and Don Wilson.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the chapel of the Strange & Weaver Funeral Service, Morrisdale, with the Rev. Heather Baker-McAllister officiating. Burial will be in the Allport Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
