Penn State Altoona Hosts week of events in Honor of MLK

ALTOONA – Penn State Altoona’s Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity is offering a week of events and activities in celebration of Martin Luther King Jr., beginning Monday, Jan. 21.

The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Reflection Lunch will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the Adler Gymnasium.  Dr. Barbara Farmer will be the keynote speaker.  At 4 p.m. in the Slep Student Center, students will share excerpts from essays and video projects created in honor of King.

The rest of the week includes an interfaith prayer service, a theatrical production, a day of service, and a breakfast forum.

These events are sponsored by the Office of Institutional Equity, Diversity, and International Student Services, the MLK Planning Committee, Campus Ministry, Black Student Union, Caribbean Student Association, and Student Activity Fee.
