Police Report: Ridgway PSP
- An incident of simple assault occurred at 12:30 a.m. Jan. 1 at a camp along Kochs Road in Horton Township. While attending a party at the camp, a known 20-year-old Ridgway woman assaulted a 19-year-old Ridgway woman. The incident remains under investigation, and charges are currently pending.
- An incident of harassment occurred at 3:02 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of Main Street and Sheeley Road in Fox Township. While at the scene of an accident, a 52-year-old St. Marys man allegedly grabbed a 24-year-old Kersey man, which resulted in unwanted contact. The accused was cited for harassment through the district court.
- No injuries were reported following a single-vehicle accident at 2:45 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of Main Street and Sheeley Road in Fox Township. Michelle A. Herzing, 23, of Kersey was traveling southbound on Main Street when her vehicle traveled off the west berm for approximately 20 feet. Upon re-entering her lane, she lost control of her vehicle, which crossed into the northbound lane. There, it impacted a utility pole along the east berm and then traveled southbound for approximately 60 feet. Her vehicle came to a final rest in the northbound lane, facing a southerly direction. Herzing was wearing her seatbelt. She was cited for driving within a single lane.
- A 20-year-old Rockton man sustained moderate injuries after a single-vehicle accident at 12:20 a.m. Thursday on Elm Street in Jay Township. He was traveling southbound when his vehicle left the roadway via the west berm and impacted a ditch. The man was arrested for DUI and several summary traffic violations through the district court. He wasn’t wearing his seatbelt. The man’s passenger, Brian M. Stahl, 29, of Weedville was not injured and wearing his seatbelt. State police were assisted by the Jay Township Fire Department and Bennetts Valley Ambulance.
