Michigan standoff after domestic dispute ends safely, one arrested

Roscommon County, MI, United States (4E) – A man has been arrested after a domestic dispute that ended in standoff at a home in Roscommon County, Michigan Sunday afternoon, a woman managed to get out safely.

According to officials, a woman called 911 around 3 p.m. about a man allegedly holding her against her will.

The woman told police the suspect shot her telephone with a pistol when she attempted to dial 911.

Officials added the man threatened to kill anyone who will get near the home, aside from threatening to kill himself, before the woman was able to get out.

Reports stated the Roscommon County Sheriffs Office and Emergency Response Team negotiated for hours before the man surrendered to police at about 10:30 p.m.

The man has been charged with felonious assault, interfering with a communications device and domestic assault.
