Leonard M. Olewnick, 82, of Penfield died Saturday, Jan. 05, 2013 at his residence. Born Nov. 11, 1930 in Force, he was the son of the late John and Sophie (Friday) Olewnick.
On July 1, 1961, he married Anna Mae (Barbazzeni) Olewnick. She survives.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He retired from the Keystone Carbon Company in St. Mary’s after many years of service.
He was a member of the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Force, the Penfield Fireman’s Club and the Bennetts Valley American Legion Post 978.
He is survived by a daughter, Lisa Olewnick of Weedville; a son, Thomas Olewnick and his wife, Robin of Penfield; a sister, Mary Stagi of Penfield; and two grandchildren, Eric Slaughter and Madison Olewnick.
He was preceded in death by his two brothers, John and Bill Olewnick and five sisters, Ann Derus, Viola Olewnick, Betty Peters, Irene Sweeney and Aileen Feldman.
There will be no public visitation.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Thomas Tyler as celebrant.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
