Obituary Notice: Edna M. English

Edna M. English, 81, of Morrisdale died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013 at her residence. Born Feb. 7, 1931 in New Millport, she was the daughter of the late Walter E. and Lena A. (Shaffer) Myers.

Mrs. English was a member of the Fairview United Methodist Church, Morrisdale. She was a 1948 graduate of the Clearfield Area High School.

She was a homemaker. She was also a member of the New Millport Women’s Club.

She married Homer S. English on Feb. 4, 1950 in New Millport. He preceded her in death on Nov. 14, 1994.

Mrs. English is survived by her children, Darlene English and her husband, Bill, Dan English and his wife, Brenda and Glen English and his wife, Marlene, all of Morrisdale and Roy English and his wife, Melody of Winslow, AZ.

Also surviving are her sisters, Verna Himes and Lettie Morrison, both of Clearfield and Minnie Williams of Altoona; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Davis and one grandson, Craig D. English.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Fairview United Methodist Church, Morrisdale, with the Pastor Tim Hawkins officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Monday at the Strange & Weaver Funeral Home, Morrisdale and from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Tuesday at the church.
