Northwest Charitable Foundation Supports Headwaters Conservation Partnership
The Headwaters Charitable Trust is pleased to announce a special, year-end donation of $4,000 from the Northwest Charitable Foundation, based in Warren in support of the Headwaters Conservation Partnership (HCP) program. The Foundation is affiliated with Northwest Savings Bank, which was the founding partner of the Headwaters Conservation Partnership in April of 2012.
The purpose of the donation is to support further development of the HCP program in 2013. The willingness of Northwest Savings Bank to publicly support the new initiative enabled Headwaters to attract other significant corporate partners, which include CNB Bank, Atlas Resource Partners, EQT, Dominion, Pennsylvania General Energy and Domtar. Utilizing their donations Headwaters distributed nearly $15,000 directly to local conservation projects in November of 2012. Based on this strong start, Headwaters expects to have hundreds of regional partners with the next two years.
Executive Director Dale Fox shared her perspective on the importance of the HCP program. She said, “If a company wants to have a direct influence on conservation activities in the places where their employees live and work, one cannot find a better program than HCP. Innovative and ground-breaking, we are sure that this program will be the recipient of many awards in the future for providing such a dynamic approach to funding local conservation work at a time when state and federal funding is so tight. We must work together to protect and improve the special local places that are important to us”.
The Headwaters Conservation Partnership is currently available to corporations, small businesses, foundations and individuals within the eight counties of Cameron, Centre, Clearfield, Centre, Elk, Jefferson, Potter and McKean. All contributions are tax-deductible. More information can be found at www.headwaterspa.org.
