Obituary Notice: Shirley M. Sudik

Shirley M. Sudik, 82, of Philipsburg died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012 at the Clearfield Hospital in Clearfield.

She was the daughter of the late George V. and Myrtle Mae (Tyler) Lobb born Sept. 7, 1930. She married George Sudik Jr. on Sept. 30, 1951 in Brisbin. He preceded her in death April, 1, 2011.

Mrs. Sudik was member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Philipsburg, where she was also a member of the Circle of Friends.

She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross and was a member of the Philipsburg Pinochle Club.

She had worked part-time for various Philipsburg businesses and was a homemaker. She was also a 1948 graduate of the Woodward Township High School.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Sudik was preceded in death by five sisters, Elverta Evans, Delores Fiasco, June Waltz, Helen Patterson and Camilla Kephart; two brothers, Tyler and George Lobb; and a son-in-law, Joseph Michael “Joe Mike” Williams. She was the last of her generation

She is survived by two daughters, Cathy “Chip” Williams of Philipsburg and Karen Woodrow and her husband, Jeff of Carlisle; a son, George “Scott” Sudik of Dover; seven grandchildren, Casey Williams of Osceola Mills, Michael Williams of Washington, D.C., Heather Woodrow of Columbia, SC, Ashley Woodrow of Carlisle, Alexis Sudik of York and Lindsey Sudik and Skylar Sudik, both of Dover; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Philipsburg, with the Rev. Brenda K. Leigey officiating. Burial will be at the Philipsburg Cemetery in Philipsburg.

Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home in Philipsburg and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
