Obituary Notice: Martha L. Homyack

Martha L. Homyack, 79, of Williamsburg died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.

Born May 22, 1933 in Houtzdale, she was the daughter of the late Abraham and Lulu (George) Elias.

She was kind, gentle and humble and had a strong faith in God.

On June 4, 1966 in Ganister, she married Joseph Homyack.

She’s survived by a son, Michael J. Homyack of Holidaysburg; a brother, Jake of New Jersey; a sister, Selma Gleyze of Florida; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; an infant son, Gregory; a sister, Barbara Sidorick; and two brothers, John Elias and George Elias.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Nativity of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church, Osceola Mills with Archimandrite Jacob Piruta. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Birger A. Freeberg Funeral Home Inc., Houtzdale.

Panikhida will be sung at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
