Three arrested for New York burglary, grand larceny

New York, NY, United States (4E) – Three men have been taken into custody and charged with burglary and grand larceny when a resident of Brighton, New York called 911 after he observed them stop on a neighbor’s driveway on Friday and started breaking in and taking things from the house.

According to officials, responding officers managed to follow the vehicle used by the suspects through the description given by the witness, but the driver of the vehicle refused to stop.

After encountering a traffic jam at Elmwood and South Avenues, the trio left the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot.

Police eventually caught and arrested them, and recovered the stolen items from their vehicle.

The suspects have been identified as 33-year-old Jimmie D. Rutley, 24-year-old Willis R. Knight, and 27-year-old Jerrod J. Braithwaite. They have been charged with burglary, grand larceny and criminal mischief.

Rutley and Braithwaite were held on no bail due to predicate felon status, and Knight is being held on $25,000/$50,000 bail.
