State Trooper among injured after wreck in Michigan

Warren, MI, United States (4E) – A State Trooper was injured Tuesday morning after being involved in a three-car crash along Interstate 696 in Warren, Michigan, which caused the closure of the freeway.

According to police, the officer stopped a driver for speeding at 8:45 a.m. when a taxi swerved and slammed the back of the cruiser.

The officer, including the driver he stopped, the taxi driver and his passenger, sustained injuries.

The freeway at Van Dyke was shut down after the incident, but has since been reopened.
