State police investigate shooting on Michigan highway, two hurt

Detroit, MI, United States (4E) – Authorities are investigating a shooting that occurred Tuesday morning on the westbound Interstate 94 near Junction in Detroit, Michigan that wounded two people.

The victims, a man and a woman, told police that the incident happened around 3:10 a.m. after leaving the MGM Casino, and becoming involved in a traffic accident with another vehicle.

Police said the victims were tailed by the suspect’s vehicle after the incident, before shots were fired, hitting both victims multiple times.

The suspect fled the crime scene.

The injured pair was brought to the hospital where the passenger, who was shot nine times, underwent surgery for non-life threatening injuries. The driver reportedly suffered minor injuries.

Michigan State Police are searching for a black Ford Expedition and urging anyone with information to call Sergeant Greenway at (734) 287-5000.
