Philadelphia, PA, United States (4E) – A pedestrian in his 50s died after being hit by a car in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Tuesday morning and police are now investigating the incident.

Police said the unidentified man was crossing City Avenue along Wynnefield Heights around 2:30 a.m. when the car stuck the pedestrian.

The victim, a white man with white hair was wearing a black jacket, jeans, and white sneakers, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Reports stated the car involved left the accident scene.

Police believe the vehicle is a silver sedan, possibly a Nissan, and will probably have front-end and windshield damage.

It was last seen traveling to a ramp heading to the Schuylkill Expressway, Lincoln Drive, and the Roxborough-Manayunk area.

Investigators have been examining clues, including car parts from the accident scene.
