New York, NY, United States (4E) – U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Monday spent the New Year’s Eve at a hospital in New York following a blood clot appearance in her head.
The doctors said that a routine scan showed the formation of a right transverse sinus venous thrombosis in the space between her skull and brain behind the right ear. Mount Kisco Medical Group’s Dr Lisa Bardack of, George Washington University’s Dr Gigi El-Bayoumi said the clot did not result in any stroke or neurological damage.
The doctors at New York Presbyterian Hospital, where she has been admitted since Sunday, are working to dissolve this clot. She is expected to be released on Wednesday.
“In all other aspects of her recovery, the secretary is making excellent progress and we are confident she will make a full recovery. She is in good spirits, engaging with her doctors, her family, and her staff,” they added.
Clinton, who is highly-visible in her last four years in office, was last seen in public on December 7.
