Lexington, KY, United States (4E Sports) – Jennifer O’Neill and DeNesha Stallworth scored 21 points each and the Kentucky Wildcats cruised to their 11th straight win after blowing by the Marist Red Foxes, 78-56, Sunday at Memorial Coliseum.
The 7th-ranked Wildcats kept on finding ways to post victories, coming through with all-out effort on both ends of the floor to overwhelm Marist.
Powered by hot-shooting O’Neill and Stallworth, Kentucky outscored Marist 40-32 in the first half before blasting the Red Foxes, 38-24, in the second half.
Kentucky shot 42.9 percent from the field and chalked up 28 rebounds. The Wildcats also showed resilience on defense, recording 14 steals and forcing Marist to commit 26 turnovers.
Elizabeth Beynnon scored a team-high 15 points for the Red Foxes, who have dropped three of their last four games and dropped to 5-6 in the season.
Kentucky improved to 12-1 but the Wildcats are set to embark in a tough schedule with Florida Gators on Jan. 3, Alabama Crimson Tide on Jan. 6 and Texas A&M on Jan. 10 upcoming.
