Erie Man Killed in I-80 Accident

CLEARFIELD – A 37-year-old Erie man, Jamal Alhaj, was killed in a single-vehicle accident that occurred at 10:50 p.m. Monday on Interstate 80 eastbound at mile maker 119 in Lawrence Township.

Alhaj lost control of his vehicle, which slid off the south berm of the roadway. There, it struck an embankment and overturned onto its roof.

Alhaj wasn’t wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident. He was transported to the Clearfield Hospital, where he died.

Police were assisted by the Clearfield Emergency Medical Services and the Lawrence Township Volunteer Fire Department.
