Ellen J. (Kitko) Priselac, 80, of Houtzdale died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012 at her residence.
She was born Aug. 19, 1932, at Madera, a daughter of the late Arthur P. and Mary (Vancas) Kitko.
She was a parishioner of Christ the King Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Rosary Society and a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas St. Victoria’s Court #646.Â
She also was a member of the Houtzdale American Legion
Ladies Auxiliary, the National Slovak Society and a life member of the Smoke Run Croatian Club.Â
She was a 1950 graduate of the former Madera High School.
On May 29, 1954 in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ramey, she married Joseph L. Priselac, who preceded her in death June 9, 2009. Together they owned and operated Green Acres Restaurant for more than 44 years. In her younger years, she worked on the family dairy farm know as Highland Dairy. She also enjoyed baking.
She’s survived by five children, Mary E. Green and her husband, Raymond; Joseph M. Priselac and his wife, Gina; Michael T. Priselac and his wife, Angelia; and Dorothy A. Hamm, all of Houtzdale and John F. Priselac and his wife, Cecilia of Johnstown.
 She is survived by nine grandchildren, John Green and his wife, Beth of Berwick; Raymond “Buddy” Green and his wife, Megan of Ramey; Jennifer Green at Palmer College of Chiropractic, Davenport, Iowa; David Green of Clarion University; Katherine Priselac, who is stationed at Hurburt Field Air Force Base, Fort Walton Beach, FL; Lucia Priselac of Kenyon College, Gambier, OH; Anna Hamm of Houtzdale; Bridget Hamm of Smoke Run; and Timothy Hamm of Houtzdale. Also surviving are two great-grandchildren, Brooke Smith of Smoke Run and Natalie Green of Ramey.
Also surviving are a ssister, Dorothy Franko of Pittsburgh and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, John Francis Priselac on Jan. 31, 1990 and a brother, Arthur Kitko Jr. on Nov. 13, 1954.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 8:30 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. Thursday at the Kruise Funeral Home Inc., Ramey. The Rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home by the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and the Christ the King Rosary Society.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Christ the King Catholic Church, Houtzdale, with Fr. Stanley J. Swacha as celebrant. Burial will follow in the American Legion Cemetery, Brisbin. Â
