Honolulu, HI, United States (4E Sports) – Jamaal Franklin racked up 19 points and 15 rebounds and Chase Tapley added 13 points as San Diego State Aztecs routed the Indiana State Sycamores, 62-55, Sunday at Stan Sheriff Center.
The 18th ranked Aztecs improved their record to 10-2 by blasting the Sycamore. The Aztecs shot 41.7 percent from the field but controlled the paint by grabbing 30 rebounds and earned more free-throw opportunities (18-for-28).
The Sycamores had a better clip from the field with 43.8 field goal percent but 17 turnovers hurt.
San Diego State is expected to climb further in the ranks after its 11th straight win. They will next face Cal State on January 2, Fresno on January 9, Colorado on January 12 before facing 21st ranked UNLV on January 16.
Indiana State will face Illinois State on December 30, Northern Iowa January 2, Bradley on January 5 and Southern Illinois on January 12.
