Emery Franklin Powers, 85, DuBois died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012 at the DuBois Nursing Home.
Born Feb. 9, 1927, he was the son of the late Maxwell D. and Iva (Walburn) Powers. On Feb. 5, 1946, he married Josephine Belle Chase. She preceded him in death on Oct. 14, 2011.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in World War II.
He worked at the Jackson China Company in Falls Creek for 35 years.
He was a member of the Mt. Zion Methodist Church. He was an active and avid fly fisherman, and he enjoyed tying flies.
He is survived by daughter, Penny Lee Reasinger and her husband, Perry of DuBois; two sons, Mark Powers and his wife, Dixie of Falls Creek and Russ Powers and his wife, Margaret of Wake Forest, NC; a sister, Betty Angelo of DuBois; a brother, Ronald Powers and his wife, JoAnn of Brockway; three grandchildren, Tracey Powers and Chad Heverley and his wife, Gina and Shawn Heverley; a step-grandchild, Amy Labrasca and her husband, Dr. Algie; two great-grandchildren, Ella and Ethan Heverley; and two step-great-grandchildren, Gianna and Algie Labrasca.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Powers and two brothers, Richard and Daniel Powers.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Dec. 27 at the Mt. Zion Methodist Church in DuBois with Pastor Ron Lindahl officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be placed to the Mt. Zion Fund for the Needy, 16 Denton Ave., DuBois, PA 15801.
