Brandenburg, KY, United States (4E) – A bomb threat was made against the Meade County High School in Brandenburg, Kentucky caused nearly one-third of its students to stay home Wednesday.

School officials told WDRB that around 500 of its 1600 students were absent which could be due to Tuesday’s bomb threat or because it is the last day of school before the break.

Student and staff were evacuated from Meade County High School after a threat of a bomb in the building was made Tuesday.

The building was searched but nothing suspicious was found.

The Meade County sheriff has urged those responsible to surrender, but no one did, and added the Federal Bureau of Investigation has been provided evidence for further investigation and possible criminal charges.
