Greenwood, IN, United States (4E) – An armed bank robbery in Greenwood, Indiana Thursday morning resulted in the immediate lockdown of Greenwood schools.

According to authorities, two masked men displaying weapons entered the First Merchants Bank along Providence Drive at 9 a.m. and tied the hands of employees and one customer using plastic zip before ordering them to the floor.

They were heard talking on two-way radios to another suspect who stayed outside, before they fled, taking with them an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

Several area schools declared a lockdown as a precaution when they learned about the incident.

No one has been arrested and investigation continues.
