Hollywood, FL, United States (4E) – The man who was run over by a lifeguard driving a beach safety truck Tuesday on Hollywood Beach, Florida remained in the hospital a day after the accident.
CBSMiami identified the victim as 36-year-old Timothy Clingman.
Hollywood Police said Clingman was resting on a sand dune along Ocean Drive, when 63-year-old Vincent Canosa, a beach safety chief, drove up over the dune and passed over Clingman.
Police revealed Canosa did not realize what happened until lifeguards on the beach stopped him and told him about the accident.
Clingman suffered minor injuries including burns from the exhaust pipe and some nicks and bruises, and he is being treated at the Memorial Regional Hospital.
The same incident occurred in April when Rindle Mizelle, a teacher from North Carolina, was run over by a beach lieutenant.
