Maxine H. Smeal, 78, of Clearfield and formerly of West Decatur died Friday, Dec. 14, 2012 at the Clearfield Hospital. She was the wife of the late John E. Smeal, who died April 24, 1991.
Born Sept. 11, 1934 in Philipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Odis B. and Rosella E. (Kephart) Lumadue.
She was a homemaker and loved to crochet in her spare time.
Surviving are three daughters and three sons, Jerry Smeal and his wife, Mary Ann and Gretta Peters and her husband, Ben, all of West Decatur; David Smeal and his Wife, Jan of Danville; Peggy Buck and her husband, Tim of Rocky Mount, VA; Lisa Boyd and her husband, Steve of Pittsburgh; and Eric Smeal and his wife, Sonya of Mill Hall.
Also surviving are 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Norma “Punk” Wisor and her husband, Lyle “Rook” of West Decatur and Betty Boltz and her husband, David of Duncansville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, an infant son, Michael Smeal; and a sister, Janet Rauch.
There will be no public viewing. Funeral services and burial will be private.
