Kobe’s 34 points lift Lakers over undermanned Sixers

Philadelphia, PA, United States (4E Sports) – Kobe Bryant scored 34 points and Dwight Howard racked up 17 points and 11 boards as the Los Angeles Lakers toppled the Philadelphia 76ers, 111-98, Sunday at Wells Fargo Center.

The Lakers easily recorded their second straight win after outscoring the 76ers over the first three quarters.

Bryant, a Philadelphia native, led the charge for the Lakers while Howard controlled the play in the shaded lane. The Lakers also knocked down 14 three-points shots while forcing the 76ers to commit 17 turnovers.

The 76ers also missed starting point guard Jrue Holiday (left foot sprain) and Andrew Bynum could not play against his former team due to a knee injury.

Metta Word Peace recorded 19 points and Darius Morris tallied 15 points for the Lakers, who padded their lead to as large as 18 points.

Meanwhile, Nick Young starred for the Sixers with 30 markers while Evan Turner and Spencer Hawes chipped in with 16 points each in a loss.
