Suspect arrested in Arizona machete attack

Flagstaff, AZ, United States (4E) – A 19-year-old man who allegedly used a machete to brutally assault a man earlier this month in Flagstaff, Arizona has been arrested Thursday.

According to officials, Andrew James Jaurequi was taken into custody at a motel in Flagstaff Thursday afternoon.

Police said Jaurequi is facing charges of attempted homicide and probation violation.

On December 1, responding officers discovered a seriously injured man who was reportedly attacked by a suspect wielding a machete.

Jaurequi and 28-year-old Louis Leyvas Sanchez have been accused of the crime. The victim informed police that an old quarrel caused the incident.

Police are still looking for Sanchez which they consider armed and dangerous.
