Philipsburg Couple Accused of Distributing Marijuana

PHILIPSBURG – A Philipsburg couple has been accused of distributing marijuana, according to the Philipsburg-based state police.

The Pennsylvania State Police Troop G Vice and Narcotic Unit conducted an investigation into the distribution of marijuana in the Philipsburg area. During the investigation, state police made controlled purchases of marijuana from Jermaine, 32, and Aimee Gardner, 35, in Philipsburg Borough.

State police obtained a search warrant for the Gardner residence and seized marijuana, drug paraphernalia and U.S. Currency.  State police filed a criminal complaint through the office of Magisterial District Judge Allen Sinclair in Philipsburg and obtained warrants for the arrests of Jermaine and Aimee Gardner.

On Wednesday, Jermaine Gardner was taken into custody. He was later arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Carmine Presita at the Centre County Booking Center. His bail was set at $75,000 unsecured. Jermaine Gardner remains in the Centre County Prison on a probation detainer.

On Thursday, Aimee Gardner voluntarily appeared at the office of Sinclair for an arraignment. Her bail was also set at $75,000 unsecured.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 19, 2013 at the Centre County Courthouse.
