Maryland head-on crash killed two

Beltsville, MD, United States (4E) – Two people died early Friday morning after a car slammed into a tow truck along Route 1 in Beltsville, Maryland.

Police said the head-on crash happened before 1:40 a.m. on Baltimore Avenue near Powder Mill Road, when a Chevrolet Camaro heading south crossed the median and rammed into a tow truck.

One passenger in the car was ejected, while another was trapped inside as the Camaro was engulfed by flames.

Both victims were declared dead at the scene, while the truck driver, who was slightly injured, was taken to the hospital.

Police added both victims remained unknown as they have no identification on their person.

An investigation to determine on the cause of the crash continues.
