At least 27 dead, including 18 children, in Connecticut elementary school shooting

Newtown, CT, United States (NewsBahn) – At least 27 people, including 18 children, are dead in a Friday morning elementary school shooting.

The shooting, believed to be the deadliest shooting incident ever in Connecticut history, reportedly took place at 9:40 a.m.

Two shooters were said to be involved, according to reports, with the first gunman dead and a second on the loose. Four police helicopters could be seen in the area, perhaps searching for the second shooter.

Three people were being treated at nearby Danbury Hospital, though the number of injured wasn’t known as of the early afternoon.

Many children were led from the school by teachers and parents.
