Portland, OR, United States (4E) – Three people have been fatally shot including the alleged gunman reportedly in his early 20s, who apparently killed himself, Tuesday afternoon in a mall located at Clackamas, Oregon.

According to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, the shooting was first reported about 3:30 p.m. which resulted to the death of two people as well as the masked shooter who died due to a self-inflicted gunshot injury inside the Clackamas Town Center.

During the Tuesday night press conference, Sergeant Adam Phillips said the shooter has been identified but full confirmation is needed before his name will be released.

Officials said Kristina Shevchenko, who suffered a gunshot wound, was rushed to Oregon Health and Science University in serious condition.

Investigators reported the suspect acted alone and witnesses said around 20 shots were fired.

Phillips claimed both victims were in an open area of the mall when gunfire erupted.

He added that there were several calls made to 911 and said that the Clackamas Town Center security guards and employees did the appropriate things.

The town center has been evacuated and a lockdown order was issued while nearby roads and highways remained closed.

Authorities who arrived at the scene continued to search the mall Tuesday evening for possible injured shoppers or any people that could still be hiding.

Witnesses told KOIN they were taken inside stores and urged to hide while SWAT teams checked the area.

People started leaving the mall at 5 p.m.

Investigators are now examining the mall’s surveillance footage to determine how the incident happened.

Authorities said the mall will be shut down until Friday and anyone who left personal items in the mall should check its website for details on how to retrieve it.
