Man and woman hit and killed by car in California

Chula Vista, CA, United States (4E) – A 24-year-old driver fatally hit two pedestrians Sunday evening in Chula Vista, California and police are now investigating.
According to Chula Vista Police Captain Gary Wedge, a 50-year-old man and a 57-year-old woman crossing Fourth Avenue near Eucalyptus Park about 6 p.m. have been rammed by a Mitsubishi Diamante driving north on 4th Avenue near C Street.
Police said the man from San Diego died at the scene, while the woman, a Chula Vista resident, died at a nearby hospital.
The driver has been questioned at the scene and was released, revealed officials.
Redmond added that alcohol was not a factor in the incident.
