East Rutherford, RJ, United States (4E Sports) – Seth Curry scored 23 points and Mason Plumlee chalked up 16 points and 14 rebounds as the No.2 Duke Blue Devils cruised to a 90-67 win over the Temple Owls Saturday at IZOD Center.
The Blue Devils improved to 9-0 behind another stellar game from Curry and Plumlee, who has been dominant force inside the paint this season.
Powered by a strong first half shooting, the Devils headed to the locker room with a sizeable 46-32 advantage against the previously undefeated Owls.
The Owls came into the game on a six-game winning streak and fresh off a huge 76-61 win over Villanova. However, Temple just could not solve Duke’s imposing defense, going just a 38.7 percent from the field.
Meanwhile, Duke continued to fire on all cylinders and turned the previously proud Owls into a bunch of beginners.
Ryan Kelly (14 points and 10 rebounds) and Quinn Cook (14 points) also contributed well for Duke, who shot 47.5 percent from the field and knocked down 12 of 20 three-point attempts.
Quenton DeCosey recorded 13 points for the Owls, who are having their best start since going 14-0 in the 1987-1988 season.
