Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E Sports) – The Los Angeles Lakers aren’t interested of entertaining trade offers for power forward Pau Gasol until they fully evaluate their rosters after the return of point guard Steve Nash from injury, a league insider reported Thursday.
The Lakers reportedly denied two trade overtures from the Toronto Raptors and the Minnesota Timberwolves for Gasol, who is averaging 12.6 points, 8.8 boards, and 3.5 assists.
According to the source, the Raptors proved to be an ideal landing spot for Gasol because of the solid package they could offer in an eventuality of trade.
The Raps will reportedly make available Andrea Bargnani, Jose Calderon, and Linas Kleiza, who are all presumed to be perfect fits for Mike D’Antoni run-and-gun offense.
The Timberwolves revived their trade talks with the Lakers and are now offering center Nikola Pekovic and former second overall pick Derrick Williams.
There are also reports that the Lakers are eyeing New Orleans Hornets forward Ryan Anderson, who thrived alongside Dwight Howard during their tenure with the Orlando Magic.
