iPhone 5 to hit Middle East countries Dec. 14
Cupertino, CA, United States (4E) – Apple Inc. has announced the release of its latest smartphone model, iPhone 5, in the Middle East on Dec. 14 and the launch of its e-store iTunes in the region.
IPhone 5, which was released in the U.S. in September and is currently available in 47 countries, will be available soon in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Kuwait and Turkey.
Meanwhile, iTunes and App Store was launched Wednesday in the region to make 20 million songs and 700,000 apps available in Arab countries. Songs can be purchased at a minimum 99 cents. Except for Turkey, movies and TV shows will be available in iTunes later, according to Apple.
ITunes was launched in the U.S. in 2001 and is currently available in 119 countries. App Store is available in 155 countries.
