Bethesda, MD, United States (4E) – A tractor-trailer that spilled its load of fruit boxes on the road when it overturned on the Capital Beltway near Bethesda, Maryland early Thursday morning has caused traffic to slow down in the area.
Police said the truck, which was carrying a load of blueberries and pineapples, turned turtle after the ramp for the Interstate 270, and the driver was not seriously hurt.
The wreck has shut down the far right lane and shoulder of the Outer Loop but motorists can still pass through I-270.
Officials added workers are removing fruits from the trailer for the vehicle to be moved from the roadway. The cleanup process would need at least six hours.
Police believe the crash has been influenced by speed.
