Oregon girl, 10, drowned; death ruled homicide

Fairview, OR, United States (4E) – The medical examiner’s office said the 10-year-old girl who died last month at a Fairview apartment complex in Oregon drowned, and her death has been declared a homicide.

According to police, Miranda Crockett died November 24 at the King’s Garden Apartments on Northeast 207th Avenue.

Police arrested 34-year-old Chandra Ilene Rose, the girlfriend of Miranda Crockett’s father, in connection with the case two days later.

The father was not home when the incident happened.

Rose, who has three children of her own, faces charges of criminal mistreatment and reckless endangerment.

Her children have been placed in protective custody.

Rose is set to appear in court on December 19.
