California truck driver detained after suspected hit-and-run

San Diego, CA, United States (4E) – A 29-year-old driver of a meat delivery truck has been arrested early Wednesday morning in San Diego, California after he fled the scene when his vehicle slammed into a car, injuring one person.

According to police, the crash occurred around 11 p.m. Tuesday along Sports Arena Boulevard.

The Prime Selections delivery truck was heading southbound when it hit the back of a black Toyota Prius, damaging the car. After the collision, the driver left the scene on foot.

The woman driving the car suffered serious injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital.

Police found the truck driver at a gas station located in Tecolote Road and Morena Boulevard.

Reports stated the suspect is facing hit-and-run charges as well as driving under the influence.
