Key Largo, FL, United States (4E) – The first ever Humphrey Bogart Film Festival, to be held on May 2-5, 2013 in Key Largo, Florida, has announced its lineup of films in honor of the late Hollywood actor.
To be hosted by Bogart’s son, Stephen, along with Lauren Bacal, the festival showcases several films that highlights Bogart’s impact on film noir, which is also the festival’s theme for this year. Films to be screened include ‘The Petrified Forest’, ‘High Sierra’, ‘The Maltese Falcon’, ‘The Big Sleep’, ‘Dark Passage’, ‘The Treasure of the Sierra Madre’, ‘Key Largo’ and ‘In a Lonely Place.’
Special guest Leonard Maltin will have a presentation on Bogart’s role in the film noir genre.
The three-day festival to be be held in seven venues will also have a special screening of Bogart’s classics such as ‘The African Queen’, ‘Casablanca’ and ‘Key Largo.’
Stephen, upon the festival’s launch last September, said, “It just feels right to honor my father and his movies in this beautiful place, which has such an organic connection to his legacy.”
Other highlights of the festival is a ride on ‘The African Queen’ and an exhibit of Humphrey Bogart Memorabilia.
