Venezuela President Chavez set for next Cuba visit for medical treatment
Caracas, Venezuela (4E) – Just a month before swearing in for a third term after Venezuela re-elected him as country’s president, Hugo Chavez on Tuesday said that he would go back to Cuba for further medical treatment as needs therapy to recover from the tough electoral campaign earlier this year.
Chavez had been suffering from cancer since 2011 for which he had received months of treatment in Cuba. He had declared himself cured from the deadly disease in May this year. Chavez’s announcement came through a letter at the National Assembly that had no mention about any return of the cancer in his body.
The letter quoted Chavez as saying that he will return to Havana for further medical advice. “Six months after I had the last session of radiotherapy, I have been advised to begin a new special treatment, with several sessions of hyperbaric oxygen therapy and physiotherapy,” says the letter.
