San Diego man rescued from burning apartment

San Diego, CA, United States (4E) – Firefighters and paramedics saved a man’s life after he was discovered inside a burning apartment in San Diego, California early Wednesday morning.

According to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department, a homeowner living near the complex smelled the smoke and alerted the authorities around 2:00 a.m., six fire units responded.

Officials said the fire allegedly broke out in the closet situated in the back of the bedroom of the house located at Marlborough Avenue.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames and pulled the victim out of the apartment.

The man, who suffered from smoke inhalation, was transported to the burn unit at the UC San Diego Medical Center.

Officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
