Cleveland, OH, United States (4E) – The 20-year-old mother of a young boy whose body was discovered Monday by police at a garbage dump in Cleveland, Ohio has been taken into custody and is scheduled for a hearing on Thursday.
Cleveland police said Camilia Terry has been detained and she is facing aggravated murder charge in the slaying of her three-year-old son, Emilliano Terry.
Terry is set to be arraigned Thursday morning at the Cuyahoga Municipal Court and the case will be given to a grand jury for deliberation of additional charges, including abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence and obstructing justice.
The cause of the boy’s death was not yet revealed by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office while investigators are reportedly waiting for DNA test results to verify the disfigured body’s identity.
Emilliano was reported missing by his mother Sunday and authorities started searching for him that same afternoon. Authorities found his body at a waste-treatment station in Oakwood.
Investigators said his body was inside a bag that was picked up from a trash container near Terry’s apartment on Buckeye Road near East 130th Street.
Police report stated they found nothing suspicious when they searched the mother’s apartment.
Preliminary reports claimed Terry told police Emilliano disappeared from the park located along East 121st Street and Williams Avenue, but she changed her story Monday.
The woman’s two other boys, aged five and five months, are now with the Cuyahoga County Department of Children and Family Services.
