State Police Investigating Hit-and-run in Philipsburg

PHILIPSBURG – The Philipsburg-based state police are investigating a hit-and-run accident that occurred sometime between 6 p.m. Thursday and 5:10 a.m. Friday in the parking area behind Minit Mart in Philipsburg Borough.

Trishea G. Socash, 51, of Philipsburg was legally parked when the operator of a red-colored Chevrolet Cavalier entered the parking area, striking the Socash vehicle, a Dodge Grand Caravan.  The operator then proceeded across North Front Street through a grass area.

Then, they crossed North Front Street again onto Penn Street, continuing back around to the parking area and onto North Front Street. Afterward they traveled southbound. The suspect vehicle will be missing a mirror and headlight.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information regarding this accident is asked to contact the Philipsburg-based state police at 814-342-3370.
