Obituary Notice: Marcella M. Olson

Marcella M. Olson, 91, of Clearfield died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012 at Christ the King Manor, DuBois. She was born Feb. 21, 1921 in Kitchener, Ontario, a daughter of the late Alex and Josephine (Kieswetter) Martz.

Mrs. Olson was a homemaker and a member of the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield

She is survived by two sons Dave Olson and his wife, Kathy of Treasure Lake and Steven Olson and his wife, Toni Duchi of Port Matilda.

Also surviving are five grandchildren, Sabrina Olson; David Olson Jr. and his wife, Janna; Desiree Thropp and her husband, Jason; and Jenna and S. Morgan Olson; and four great-grandchildren, Brittany, Hayley, Joslyn and Aiden.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl E. Olson, on Nov. 15, 1971; a sister, Eileen Massel; and a brother, Edgar Martz.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Timothy Catholic Church, Curwensville, with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee Jr. as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.

Friends will be received from 8:30 a.m. – 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to American Diabetes Association, Landmarks Building, 100 W. Station Square Dr., First Floor, Suite 1900, Pittsburgh, PA 15219 or to the American Heart Association, 501 Howard Ave., Suite D, Altoona, PA 16601.
