Indiana uses colossal first half to blast Ball State
Bloomington, IN, United States (4E Sports) – Will Sheehey scored 19 points off the bench and Cody Zeller had 15 points and 8 rebounds as the top-ranked Indiana Hoosiers overwhelmed the Ball State Cardinals, 101-53, Sunday at Assembly Hall.
The Hoosiers proved they are the team-to-beat this college basketball season after recording their most lopsided win against Ball State since the two basketball programs started their head-to-head series in 1934.
Fresh from bagging the title at the Progressive Legends Classic in Brooklyn, the Hoosiers sustained their momentum into their 21st overall game against Ball State as Sheehey, Zeller and Christian Watford sparked a huge 50-19 blast in the first half.
Indiana loosened a bit on the defensive end after the break by allowing Ball State to score 34 points in the second half. However, their huge halftime lead proved to be big enough to nail a 48-point victory.
Aussie forward Majok Majok scored 18 points and Jauwan Scafie had 11 for Ball State, who just shot 30 percent on the floor.
Indiana (6-0) will next test the North Carolina Tarheels on Nov. 27 while Ball State will try to snap a two-game slide against the Cleveland State Vikings on Nov. 28.
