Brooklyn, NY, United States (4E Sports) – Deron Williams recorded 15 points and 12 dimes and Joe Johnson scored 21 as the Brooklyn Nets toppled the Portland Trail Blazers, 98-85, Sunday at Barclays Center.

For the second straight game, the Nets found success in stopping their opponent’s offense after holding the Blazers below their usual scoring output at 102 ppg.

The game was tight from the early going with Nets’ All-Star Williams duking it out with leading Rookie of the Year Damian Lillard in a very competitive first three quarters.

However, the Nets finally gained some steam in the fourth as Williams and Brook Lopez led a huge run to turn a 70-70 deadlock to double digit lead going into the waning minutes.

The Nets outscored the Blazers 28-15 in the final period to clinch their second straight win and improve their record to 8-4.

Lillard finished with 13 points and 7 dimes, Wesley Matthews had 20 points, and JJ Hickson racked up 19 points and 10 rebounds. However, it wasn’t enough to fill the absence of LaMarcus Aldridge, who’s suffering an ankle injury.
