Virginia highway crash kills two women, injures driver

Fairfax County, VA, United States (4E) – Two women died and a man was injured after their vehicle slammed into a tree early Friday morning near the Fairfax County Parkway in Virginia.

Fairfax Division Accident Reconstruction team is now investigating the fatal crash that occurred in the westbound lanes of Interstate-66 near the ramp to Route 286 in Fairfax County around 6 a.m.

Police said the driver, 53-year-old Clarence R. Waller from Pennsylvania, was brought to the Fairfax Inova Hospital and is reportedly recovering from minor injuries.

His 53-year-old wife, Shyrel Scott-Waller and his 54-year-old sister, Juanita Ann Waller from Maryland, died at the scene.

According to police, the car swerved to the right side of I-66 before it stuck a tree.

Investigators said alcohol was not a factor, however, fatigue may have influenced the accident.
