15-year-old Ohio boy charged with shooting teen in leg, firing at cop
Toledo, OH, United States (4E) – A 15-year-old boy from Toledo, Ohio was taken into custody after allegedly shooting a teen in the leg and exchanging gunfire with a police officer on Thanksgiving night.
According to officials, Titus Crittendon was arrested by officers who responded to a report of a person shot in Nicholas St. around 7:30 p.m. and found 17-year-old Tyreece Richardson with a gunshot wound in the hip.
Tyreece Richardson was brought to the University of Toledo Medical Center with a non-life threatening injury.
Police Liutenant Mark King said the officers then spotted two people walking down an alley off Nicholas Street and decided to investigate.
After an officer got out of the car, the two suspects fled in different directions and during the chase, Crittendon fired at the officer and the officer returned fire. No one was hit during the shooting.
Police caught Crittendon after a short pursuit and recovered the weapon. He was charged with two counts of felonious assault, one of them of a police officer.
King claimed the other suspect, who disappeared in the dark and apparently lost his gun as he jumped a fence, was later apprehended. His name was not released.
