Connecticut Dunkin Donuts employee shot in botched robbery

New Haven, CT, United States (4E) – A staff of Dunkin Donuts in New Haven, Connecticut was shot after gunshot erupted during an attempted robbery Wednesday night.

According to police, an unidentified employee suffered gunshot injuries in the back after two masked men entered the establishment at Kimberly Avenue around 9:20 p.m. and tried to steal cash.

The suspects also took $25 from a customer who is there with his two children.

Nobody else was reported injured and the victim was brought to Yale-New Haven Hospital for treatment.

Police believe the suspects escaped using a white car, possibly a Honda. Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call 203-946-6304 or 303-946-6316.

Meanwhile, the New Haven Register reported that another Dunkin Donuts, this time located in Derby Avenue, West Haven, was also robbed two men late Wednesday night. No one was injured in that incident.

Police are investigating if the two robberies are connected.
