Attleboro, MA, United States (4E) – Police are looking for a man who allegedly sexually attacked an 18-year-old woman Tuesday afternoon in Attleboro, Massachusetts.

Detective Sgt. Arthur Brillon said the suspect approached the unidentified woman who was walking in an alley near the Municipal Parking Garage in Sanford Street and coerced her at knifepoint to drive to a Polyfiber plant parking area a few blocks away.

The victim informed police she was then sexually violated but was able to flee to Pleasant Street, where somebody helped her.

Police discovered the woman’s abandoned car along the Commuter Rail tracks behind the plant. The vehicle was then brought to the police station in order for investigators to examine it for clues.

An intensive ground and air search was immediately conducted, assisted by five state police K-9 units and a police helicopter.

The attacker is reportedly a clean-shaven white man in his early 20s, around 5’8″ tall and was wearing a gray or black hooded sweatshirt.

The woman has been released from the hospital where she was brought after the incident.

Police are urging anyone who might have witnessed anything suspicious to call police detectives at 508-222-1259.
