Police said fatal shooting in South Carolina was over a woman

Lancaster, SC, United States (4E) – A 30-year-old man who is linked to Monday’s deadly shooting in Lancaster, South Carolina is being sought by police.

According to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, Jeffery Lanard Roseborough fatally shot 23-year-old Gaeric Q. Johnson around 1 p.m. inside a house in Cedar Pine Lake Road after fighting over a woman.

Witnesses told police that they heard gunshots from the house and saw two cars leaving the area.

A friend brought Johnson to Springs Memorial Hospital where he was declared dead a short time later.

Investigation confirmed that the violent confrontation was caused by both men’s involvement with the same woman.

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information on the identity or location of Roseborough to call the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office at 283-4136 or contact Crimestopper’s at 1-888-Crime.
